The app
Silverside has no account, no sign-in, and no analytics. It does not send reports about how you use it, and it does not check for updates on its own.
To look up a disc, it sends the disc's table of contents and the IDs made from it to these services, which is how every ripper that uses them works:
- AccurateRip and the CUETools database, to compare your rip with other people's. Silverside reads from them; it does not submit your rips.
- MusicBrainz and the Cover Art Archive, for album names, track names, and cover art.
Each request names Silverside, its version, and this website, as MusicBrainz asks of programs that use it. No request carries your name, your email address, or anything else about you. AccurateRip and CTDB answer over plain HTTP, as their other clients use them; MusicBrainz and the Cover Art Archive are reached over HTTPS.
Everything else stays on your Mac: the rips, the reports, the settings, the drive profiles, and a cache of the answers in your Library folder. A drive report (Settings › Drives › Save Report) is a file you choose to share, for a bug report.
